Representatives from DCM attended the Civil Legal Aid Review conference in Dublin Castle at the end of February.
Organised by the Chief Justice Working Group, the two-day event explored the civil legal aid system and opportunities under the review currently taking place to develop a model system in Ireland.
The conference was an informative experience, with valuable contributions from a range of experts including academics, judges, lawyers, and other service providers. Among the topics covered were the benefits of mediation and other alternative dispute resolution measures, which generated thoughtful discussions and provided valuable insights. The event offered numerous practical ideas to support the necessary reforms in the sector and was overall a worthwhile and informative experience.
