We had a wonderful celebration of DCM25 on Saturday 11th June 2022 in Whitechurch Library.
We were honoured by the attendance of the Mayor of South Dublin County Council Peter Kavanagh, who addressed the gathering. Geoffrey Corry and Padraic O Neill told us about the beginnings of DCM, while Tony Bourke told a story about a mediation, which gave a sense of how mediation can work.
Sharon Curran shared her experience of being a member of DCM, and Evelyn Power and Eileen Beechinor outlined the Let's Work it Out Project. Blathnaidh Colhoun concluded the speeches and shared some inspiring words with us by John O Donoghue. A copy of the booklet "The Story of Dublin Community Mediation after 25 Years" was given to all.
Everyone enjoyed delicious refreshments and had lots of catching up chats with each other. Many of our members had never met in person until Saturday, so there were many comments like "oh, you're tall!" and "I didn't recognise you!" to be heard!. No one was in any rush to leave and we are looking forward to the next time we can meet in person again.
